Free legal advice: Utah Code 10-8-69

Say for instance you're rolling hoops along a city street in Utah, and an Officer of the Peace stops you and issues you a citation for engaging in an annoying pastime in the street; and say for instance you find that contrary to everything that you hold holy and sacred in this cruel, cruel world; and say for instance that you yell out in your righteous indignation, "This crummy city has no right to prevent me from rolling hoops!"  Well, you would be wrong.
Utah Code Section 10-8-69:  "[A municipality] may prohibit or regulate the rolling of hoops, playing of ball, flying of kites, riding of bicycles or tricycles, or any other amusements or practices having a tendency to annoy persons passing in the streets or on sidewalks, or to frighten teams of horses, or to interfere with traffic."
Now whether the crummy city decides to exercise that authority and pass such a law is another thing, but it has the power to do so.  And rightfully so.  I mean, we certainly don't want to annoy persons passing in the streets or on sidewalks, and we definitely don't want to frighten the horses.

Consider yourself warned.

4MM - Yesterday was hike day (#1)

Wasn't it great?

Yes it was.  For our maiden voyage, the Four More Miles Club climbed Frary Peak, the highest point on Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake.  They don't get any more unique than this, and the views were spectacular.

One of the views from the top.

Boy it felt good to get out and explore nature with friends and family.  We're already planning our May hike (to include more trees), so let us know if you want to be added to the email distribution list for details.

Tenny's First Art Show

Tenny's scholastic focus has taken a short detour from Chinese to fine arts, and his preschool just displayed hundreds of pieces museum-style to make the parents feel good about their choice of schools.  It worked.  Here are some of Tenny's pieces.

DC Parking

We just got this lovely reminder of how nice it is to have a driveway/garage.

And how nice it is not to interact with the DC DMV on a regular basis.

Ye Bowling Clan

We may just have some natural bowlers in the family.  This should help them connect with the common folk during their presidential campaigns.

It was a beautiful day in our neighborhood!

Blossoms in the valley, snow in the mountains, and storms racing across the sky - we have not been good enough to deserve this!

Tenny vs. Cactus

Brave Sir Tenny appeared defeated when the cactus initially impaled his foot, but he mustered a hero's courage and emerged victorious.

It's true that money can't buy happiness...

...but it can buy Zyrtec, which is the only thing standing between me and complete insanity.

What did people do before this miracle drug?
